Game Description
The Stone of Madness is a real-time tactical stealth game that immerses gamers in the claustrophobic halls of an 18th century Spanish monastery. In the bleak setting of a Jesuit stronghold deep in the Pyrenees, five prisoners must combine their skills to overcome a web of fear, paranoia and supernatural threats. With their lives on the line, they must confront their own traumas and the madness that threatens to consume them. Target? Escape - if, of course, they manage to maintain their sanity long enough.
Here you control five different characters, each of which has unique abilities. Whether it’s sneaking around in the shadows, casting spells, or distracting enemies, characters offer a variety of tactics to overcome every obstacle. But it’s not just about physical strength - mental health plays an important role. Character phobias and traumas, such as fear of the dark or the sight of blood, can trigger mental breakdowns that affect gameplay.
Keep an eye on the sanity of each character as you travel through the monastery, otherwise they may succumb to paranoia or, worse, become cruel or irrational. The structure gives gamers the opportunity to experience two separate campaigns, each offering different stories and challenges. Time also plays an important role: during the day, actions are less risky, since the guards are distracted, and the night brings its own dangers, as paranormal forces roam the corridors.
