X-Out: Resurfaced brings the legendary underwater shooter to modern platforms, inviting users to build their fleet and fight the alien forces hiding in the ocean depths. The title resurrects the challenging Rainbow Arts game, created back in the era of home computers, and now remade from the ground up thanks to the collaboration of ININ and Ziggurat. Users are immersed in eight diverse stages filled with enemies, bosses, and custom ships that create unique gameplay with each session.

The remake retains the core elements that made the original compelling, but makes significant improvements to meet modern standards. X-Out: Resurfaced features completely remastered high-resolution sprites that pay homage to the impressive pixel art of the 1990s original. The development team went even further by introducing cutting-edge particle and lighting effects that breathed new life into underwater combat.

Users navigate a variety of underwater locations, facing increasingly difficult challenges as they progress through the title’s campaign. It retains the same side-scrolling that fans remember, but at the same time, improvements have been made to make it accessible to newcomers. Chris Helsbeck, creator of the original soundtrack, has returned to remastering his scores for this remastered version. The team has updated the classic tracks with six brand new tunes that complement the fast-paced gameplay.
